哥哥的黃色出現在弟弟的身軀之上，無論對背景瞭解與否，第一眼總逃避不了一種錯位感。事實上他在設定上與林寶兄或林寶弟都沒有關係，這部黃色的Sideswipe，如同大部份日限角色一樣，他祗推出過日版商品，在滿布日文的包裝上，不少人錯將上面唯一的漢字"步哨"當成他的名字，而事實上"步哨"祗是他的職銜。

Tigertrack 虎蹟，本文所介紹的新商品，是得益於之作Sideswipe和Red Alert而順手推舟的改色產物，玩慣了老變也知道這是玩具公司價值最大化的一貫手段。 但追溯當年，Tigertrack並非單純為重塗Sideswipe而存在。實情是，包括這一紅一黃的Countach LP500S在內，同模全系列一共有三個顏色版本早於變形金剛誕生的1984年之前已經是其前身Diaclone線下Car Robots的產品，編號15。 最終，孩之寶挑選了紅色作為初代重要角色之一Sideswipe。而黃色，則差點成為了Sideswipe的孖生兄長Sunstreaker。但最終祗是挑選了他的黃色，而選用Diaclone線內更早的一款Countach LP500S成為Sunstreaker。

直到2003年，這部黃色LP500S終以誌上限定身份，在變形金剛世界獲得名份。這類角色永遠祗有寄生於限定的命運，10年之後，利用MP系推出了重新演繹的G1 Sideswipe也就是紅色版本Countach LP500S的機會，這部黃車再度成為限定，以Tokyo Toy Show exclusive身份，獲得屬於他的新世代之作。

不少變迷們納悶，為何這款MP Tigertrack大玩倒退，胸前博派標誌竟是貼紙，之前MP Sideswipe亦沒有這樣的處理。想深一層，大概是Takara Tomy想將這部黃色跑車的身份交回給變迷自己定奪：胸口貼上標誌，無疑是MP Tigertrack。但，胸前沒有標誌，那他可算第一部MP級別的Diaclone角色？
