這兩年Generations的D class都在瘋狂地縮水縮水，所幸並未波及V class角色，無論體積大細以至變形套路的豐富鋪排，仍與舊日Universe時代不相上下，如Springer這樣幾近零差評之作仍得以出現。普通、甚至爛爛的設計都會被改模再利用，何況是這少有完美一作？既然是又變車又變直升機的三變設計，改成其同僚Sandstorm再適合不過。孩寶沒有草草了事，除了指定動作改色改頭，還用一對巨大車輪呈現沙地車特色，再加蓋密封車頂，還有武器以及各細節的形形色色改動，基於同一骨架的兩部車完全呈現出大不同。飛行形態繼續拉開差距，Sandstorm從普通直昇機變成垂直起落機，兩個大車轆反起來成為一對旋轉翼的做法討好得教人一再加分。

面相第一次選用了G1卡通露嘴的俊俏外貌，但蒼白的臉色實在太過，重新油上了一浸銀色便好好多。基本上這款Sandstorm大量拋開了G1外形的束縛，即使日版配色上增加更多橙色，但我還是樂於做多一點的新舊揉合。得Elljay示範將尾翼翻下重新折成艙蓋，再將武器插上變成頭頂炮。另外從Generations Hot Pot(即Universe Inferno)拆下的水炮，改成更接近舊設的黑色手槍。雖然嚴格來講與G1形象仍然大有差距，但只要Sandstorm的頭上頂著東西，味道便回來一點點。

Springer之所以堪稱完美，皆因不止外形出色，三段變形過程亦行雲流水沒有任何阻礙與不快，同時人形關節處理得恰到好處該緊則緊。相比之下，儘管Sandstorm三個模式在外形上皆讓一眾玩迷們更為印象深刻，這一次的改模也有誠意得如此精彩，可惜新增的特色也未免破壞了原設計幾近完美的平衡，而出現新的問題：旋轉翼背包雖然有型，但嚴重加大身體上重下輕的落差，亦阻礙了雙手後擺的空間。所以，我仍然覺得前者更勝一籌。

相較其他Wreckers，Sandstorm一直是個存在感較弱的角色，大多數戲份都是出現在畫框角落，給變迷留下最深刻印象的，就是G1卡通與Octane遇上Starscream的那一集了。
