Headmasters头领战士算是变形金刚大家族其中一个独特的类别，将头部拆下来变成小型角色，同时又是原本躯体变形后的驾驶员，成为TF正统历史上最早的人车盟配搭。再加上那些主角们经常玩换头游戏，"身首异处"的镜头变成家常便饭，出位之余认真重口味。
我对头领战士的剧情并不深刻，也没有太多感情，当年甚至一度搞错，以为本文主角Chromedome是继Rodimus Prime之后的第三代领袖。还记得廿多年前那些无授权、乱翻译的讲谈社漫画之中，他叫作“古罗摩多”(Ch-ro-me-dome)。可能题材原因，身为主要角色的Chromedome自G1之后多年鲜有新作。按照如今孩宝的套路，重新设计头领战士亦机会甚微。即使Chromedome入选今年TFCC俱乐部限定的名单，其设定亦明显受IDW<MTMTE>影响，与头领战士毫无关系。
结果还是要由民牌再写旧经典。 FansProject副线：Function-X，全部聚焦头领战士角色。系列第一作正是Chromedome，"电脑怪杰"改名换姓为"代码(Code)"。首先值得讲讲Function-X的包装：一只厚身纸盒，再套上透明PVC罩。因为光影而使得胶片上的反白boxart和文字有轻微的阴影衬底，简简单单就做出不俗效果，撇离传统玩具盒格调。而纸盒颜色亦会随角色而变。听朋友讲，纸盒的造型来自日本玩展的"一日授权限定"。说到"一日权限"，在TF领域最先想起的必然是日本民間變形達人Jizai Toys。而這條Fuction-X線，傳聞正是FP邀Jizai Toys而作。
小车造形在保留原设特征基础上重新刻画造型，延续旧作插在车尾的双枪可上下角度调节，留出空间给最重要的一环：揭开舱盖，放进Chromedome的拍档Stylor。驾驶舱细心的做出軚盘，让Stylor更似在驾驶，而不仅仅是呆坐在里面。因为体型较小，Stylor同样能够坐入Toyworld Hardbone的駕駛艙，但迷你Hardbone要駕駛Code就比較勉強。
Code的变形铺排显功力，特别是车头盖顺着车身180度扭转而衔接的轨道上推成为Code的胸部的一步，教人大赞。双枪在整个变形过程毋须拆下，其安插的位置最终变成了Code的手背。众所周知Chromedome的脸部是出现在Stylor背部，G1的设计利用额头反出遮盖，确保不会在Stylor的人形状态穿崩。如今无论Jizai还是FP都不再满足这直白的处理手法。在Stylor的人形之下，Code的双眼隐藏反白，头盔亦随着Stylor双手摆动的错位进一步打散，即使露出红色口罩，也不能构成一副脸形了。当Stylor变形屈腿折腰，Code的双眼便随着部件的扭动自动露出，带出“开眼”启动的意味。结构非常简单，但过程却巧妙窝心。
作为第一弹，Jizai与FP之间还未能产生100%的化学作用，Code能带出惊艳的变形，但却给不到FansProject一贯拿手的美形。譬如那几乎直上直落没有腰形的上身，还有因为Headmaster头的比例显得体格不够宽阔。 hip位无论是造形抑或颜色都没有适当过度，造型上阔下细、颜色上深下浅，造成骤眼看起来Code像是裸露下体的尴尬。 Code的可动算是可以，唯独侧举因为膊位没有给ball joint预留太多空间而受到严重的限制。这在之后的两作仍然如是，似乎Jizai宁愿保持造形的完整以及严格控制关节的精简而牺牲手臂侧举的空间。
说到精简控制，其实观乎整件Code可以感受到Jizai在设计上的自我克制。或者是长年研究「变形美学」的心得，又或者作为他这种站在更高位的创作人看到连孩宝这几年也在寻找简化的方向转变，而那边厢民牌(包括FP自己)却仍沉溺于ROTF年代将变形玩得登峰造极但上手玩的体验却因复杂而大打折扣，走向失衡的状态。反观Code的整个设计，保持大开大合，减少繁琐。用最少动作、最少部件去实现最多的事。一方面仍能预留一展其设计水准的空间，同时又因简练而保证变形的乐趣。将Code拿上手你会发现比起其他同尺码的TF要轻身，而当中到底是敷衍的偷工还是慎思的精简，玩过便有清楚答案！

翻查Jizai Toys的blog，才發現原來多年前早已嘗試對Chromedome再設計，當時的設計與如今的Code差異極大。

對於Chromedome，我心目中的印象早就update為現在IDW<MTMTE>裡面那位讀心專家。但Code是以還原G1 Chromedome為本，與如今的設定差別巨大，難以視作同一人。眼前唯一的選擇，就只有俱樂部的TFSS限定較為勉強接近了。

那两把都不是千斤顶的吗 小时候第一个变形金刚玩具就是郭文！ 拿刀的应该就是千斤顶的改模了.从车型和人形的轮廓就可以看出来了,换换颜色,改改头雕而已 这款波文实在让我大跌眼镜，车型难看，人形第一眼都没看出来是谁！
