标题: IDW Comic General Q&A
(1) Will IDW continue the War Within series?
No. The material is tied up in legal litigation and cannot be produced for the foreseeable future. It's gone and not coming back. Let it go. If you still feel the need to discuss it, please use the "Search" function before starting a new thread about it.

(1a) Is War Within part of the IDW continuity?
Nope. It's from a different company to begin with. Furthermore, certain things exist in the War Within series but don't (as yet) exist in the IDWiverse (such as Unicron, Primus, The Council of Ancients, The Fallen and Quintessons).

(2) What's this Mosaic thing I keep hearing about?
Mosaics are fan comics, designed to emulate a "one page strip" written and illustrated by the fans, mostly fans on the IDW forum, but from all over the world. If you want to submit a story or do some art, contact Richter or Beachcomber.

(3) What are the little numbers in the Autobot Symbol over the bar code? Those are an internal "issue number" for the ongoing series, they signify the position of the issue in relation to the "core storyline" (mostly the -ation titles). The mini-series has a resetting numbering system, with each new mini-series starting again from #1, but with an internal number 1 higher then the last issue of the previous mini-series.

(4) Why isn't there any Series X (eg Beast Machines, Victory, Movie-verse, etc) stories?
Because IDW wants to focus on the Generation 1 series and Beast Wars.

(5) Will there be any crossovers with series X?
Not yet. Or at all. Well, nothing has been announced. The trouble is coordinating with the respective rights holders of the franchises (the parent companies, so using a Transformers/Doctor Who crossover as an example, the BBC for Who and Hasbro for TF).

(6) What are these Spotlights and do I have to buy them?
Spotlights are one issue long stories, where a particular character is pushed into the spotlight (hence the name) and given a chance to shine. Often the story ties into the main series, but reading them is not essential, but as many have said very enjoyable. Simon Furman is writing most of them, and the artists vary from issue to issue, so it's also the artists who get a Spotlight.

(7) Who is Chrischarger?
That's a joke involving the Editor, Chris Ryall, who is a massive fan, and with a deep vein of self depreciating humour.

(8 ) Is the Dreamwave Beast Wars story connected to the IDW BW series?
Well different companies and all, but there are similarities. But the simple fact of the matter is, that story was set to be part of Dreamwaves' series, not IDW's.

(9) Will there be a Transformers: Animated comic?
Well there's a "screen grab" comic, but that's not from IDW. Josh Burcham wants to do one, if that helps. Chris Ryall's position boils down to wait and see.

(10) What is the IDW spoiler policy?
Well there isn't one, BUT we (as Moderators) take it as read to say that if it's important to the story, then it's a spoiler. And if it's a spoiler, a bit of space after a warning would be nice. Expect ALL Reaction Threads to contain major spoilers.

(11) How can I get a job with IDW?
Like anyone else. When the company opens the doors for expressions of interest etc, that's when you send your CV and portfolios. Basically, when IDW says so.

(12) Will character X be in the series/get a spotlight?
It's a big universe. Anything is possible. The only people who know who are going to be in the comics are the writers and the artists. And maybe Chris Ryall, and getting a straight answer out of him is harder then getting one out of Hannibal Lector.

(13) Will there be IDW action figures?
That's a question for Hasbro. Given that a couple of Don's designs have been used for toys (Titaniums mostly, but Classics Jetfire is Don's as well) it's a slim (and I mean VERY slim) possibility that it might happen. But it's Hasbro's call, not IDW's.
