IDW漫画《支线：爵士》典故拾遗

记得多年前IDW变形金刚漫画《支线：爵士（Spotlight: Jazz）》一册上市之后，有阅读完的老外迷友立刻联想到了歌手Stan Ridgway于1986年发行的歌曲《Camouflage》。或许编剧的灵感正是来自于这首歌吧，因为《支线：爵士》的故事架构跟这首歌的歌词内容跟的确有着不少的相似之处。今时重温这本漫画，想起了这个典故，索性把歌词翻译一下，作为这本漫画的一个资料补充吧。

歌词的背景是上世纪的越战时期，这里不多做介绍了。因为歌词本来也就不怎么押韵，所以我也就没怎么考虑译文押韵的问题，只按意思来了。歌名Camouflage原意是“伪装”，而变色龙在英语中则是另外一个不同的单词，但考虑到Camouflage是个绰号，所以我还是选了“变色龙”来作为译名。

注1：Charlie在越战时期被美军用来指代“越共”。越共的英文Viet Cong的缩写是V.C., 按照北约的无线电通讯字母表，简称就是“Victor Charlie”，之后又被进一步简化，于是Charlie便成了代称。
注2：Semper Fi，拉丁文Semper fidelis的简化，意为“永远忠诚”，为美国海军陆战队的座右铭。


看过歌词之后再对比漫画的剧情，或许你也会与那些迷友一样有同感吧。歌里的变色龙与漫画中的爵士一样，都是救人于危难、给人以希望的老兵，不同的是，变色龙似乎是个幽灵一般的存在（或者说是他的魂魄显灵救了那个年轻的士兵），爵士则是博派阵容中实实在在的一位传奇战士。而歌词里的那句“Things are never quite the way they seem”，似乎也与体现着变形金刚特性的口号“More than Meets the Eye”存在着异曲同工之妙。在漫画里，爵士为了拯救重伤的轮胎，不惜自己的生命只身力战狂派的巨狰狞五猛将，“为同舟共济的队友燃烧火种，为崇高伟大的理念捍卫生命。”他将这句博派信条践行得淋漓尽致，如此一个传奇般的故事放在爵士的身上，个人觉得再合适不过。相信我，听着这首歌再去看一遍这本漫画，一定会有不一样的感受。
