Not just the money when comes to collecting stuffs: Passion! Passion! Passion PREVAILS after all!!

Another thing is: if you focus at the money overly, thus you spend rarely...and collection  ...

I strongly agree with your point of view. But I couldn’t afford to spend big proportion of my income on TF, as I have to pay mortgage and raise my two year old son up. And there is no TFE, MP, or BT/ALT available in NZ supermarket. I can only find movie or 08 series TF, but I don’t like them. I spent a lots time online looking for what I want. I bought some old G1 TF and two MP from NZ online auction website. They cost me about NZ$500 in total. Then I bought quite a few TF on Tao Bao for about NZ$1,000. But luckily my sister paid the delivery cost for me, which is quite costly as well. I am expecting them to turn up sometime next week. Haha.

lucky aint got no mortgage n things to pay up or kids on my back LOL. so the money generally goes right to where the best interests are held. again, lucky thus far.

also, talking about the sources for getting TF toys, I guess you can try to look up on ebay hk too, where the price of toys are probably slightly a little higher than what they are offered on those Chinese auction sites but you will get yourself a good combined shipping deal also saving a ton of money , and more importantly, a stress-free transaction at end of day and usually incredible prompt shipping as well. Those hongky sellers have the wide product range covered in their ebay stores even those hard to find so called "limited editions" toys if you are lucky sometimes. Like I got my Henkei thundercracker and skywarp from one of those guys for a relatively reasonable price as well as the pre-orders placed for the Henkei thrust and dirge.

Purchases from mainlander sellers are not bad too, especially, sellers are usually very friendly but the transaction every time is extremely time consuming: takes forever to for me to receive my order. Making payments are always supper pain in the ass as they don't take Paypal. Take those  transactions of cloth trading  I've had in the past with Taobaoers for example, every time I had to envelop out the cash in RMB, that payment took minimum two to three weeks to reach them and took another two weeks for the order to travel to here...plus those horrible stories heard about Chinese postal system how they messed up your parcels and destroyed products inside n things... To sum up, too many uncertainties and stress that I felt it took me way too much energy in dealing with transactions from China comparing what is it normally supposed from other locations. That's why I'd rather to pay a little bitta  more, just to smoothen up the process. I am pretty sure a lot of people out there might disagree with me on this. But I am not gonna run tany risk on TF toys. I have begun the collection for three monthes roughly I haven't purchased any TF toys from China yet beside Hongkong, and I don't think I will at least for the time being.

Thanks a lot for your valuable infomation. I found no problem to deal with Taobao seller, because I have Chinese bank account and Alipay. But it is really hassle to get them ship to NZ. They need to send the TFs to my sister in China, then my sister can send me. The shipping cost is really high as well. Cost my sister $1300 chinese yuan to to ship all the transformers that I bought to NZ.

Cant agree more, Yap it takes way to much hassle througout the entire process of a purchasing.

but I think in your case, you should stick to your way of continuely buying from Chinese vendors as you got reletives residing in China and the domestic bank account, for sure, which are helpful substantially in that regard.
